Felt so good....

Today was the 1st day that we have been in church since our "incident" with what our pastor said....but it wasn't "our" church that we attended.  We visited the church that we will be giving a presentation to in April.  I LOVED it!!! This church has a more contemporary feel to it.  We already knew the majority of the songs because its the same music that we listen to on the radio.  The pastor spoke of the Good Shepard and how much He loves us and knows us and wants us to know more about Him.  I like that the pastor didn't try to use "scare tactics" into getting his members to be faithful in church.  He wants people to attend because they love God and want to serve Him....not be worried that God is going to punish them for not attending on a more regular basis.  He really went into the scripture not just reading it and then moving on.  I felt like he was teaching a lesson instead of just preaching.   I really felt the Lord's presence in the church and I am excited to go back next week!  I was telling some of my co-workers that lately church has been feeling like a chore...and I didn't like that.  I was nervous about going, I only know a handful of people that attend there and it is also a very large church...I've always attended very small churches...  but I can say that everyone was so friendly.  We didn't meet too many people but most everyone said hello in passing and just really made us feel welcome. And Brycen LOVED their children's program!  Part of it was because they have video games and other arcade games ...but for Brycen to be excited to go to church is HUGE for us!  Usually we have to make him go!  I want Brycen to growing loving God and wanting to attend church, not just go through the motions.
